In 2010 CUMAC filled 16,771 referrals (households). That is a hair less than last year (which was a record high for CUMAC), but while the number of families declined ever so slightly, the number of people served increased a bit.
The 16,771 households accounted for 32,078 people, a slight increase over the record number of people served in 2009. Of those 32,078 people - nearly 1 in 3 were children, 1 in 6 were disabled and 1 in 8 were senior citizens, making them particularly vulnerable to hunger.
On average, each day the food pantry was open we filled 69 referrals, accounting for 131 people fed daily.
The last six years have seen a tremendous growth in demand for our services, as evidenced by this table:

We truly could not have kept up with this increasing need for food assistance without community support!
